Zacharias Mavroeidis is an Athens based filmmaker and writer. His latest feature “The summer with Carmen” premiered at the Giornate degli Autori section of the 80th Venice Film Festival. He studied architecture in Thessaloniki, theater in Madrid and filmmaking in Athens and Cuba. He is a Berlinale Talents and Talents Sarajevo alumni and has been awarded the Artist Fellowship ARTWORKS by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. From 2022 to 2025 he served as General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Film Academy. Parallel to his work as a filmmaker, he teaches screenwriting and works as a script consultant.
